EMBRACING THE ISLAND

Living and working on Catalina Island is an experience like no other! Here at Campus by the Sea, we work hard and play hard. We encourage our staff to “Embrace the Island,” which means taking advantage of all this beautiful island offers. This includes world-class snorkeling, early-morning wakeboarding, kayaking along the coast, lobstering during lobster season, fishing, SCUBA diving, and hiking our ocean-view trails. There’s always something new to discover! You might even get the chance to explore the island's interior, where bison roam freely, or chase after a pod of dolphins or whales! After a full day of adventure, you can unwind with a beachfront campfire under the stars.

Working as a Seasonal Employee at Campus by the Sea not only offers you endless recreation but also close community and Christian fellowship with those around you. It’s an incredible opportunity to make life-long friends and deepen your relationship with God in a one-of-a-kind environment.

You’ll live just steps from the ocean and serve students, adults, and families of all ages. We are looking for individuals with strong faith, a great work ethic, the ability to live and work well with others, and a heart for serving our guests from mid-February through mid-November. Opportunities include working on our kitchen team and our grounds crew/lifeguard team. Job training (including lifeguard training) is provided.

TEMPORARY WORK

From March to November our seasonal employees are a vital part of our ministry, from cooking meals to maintaining camp. During the “off season” (November to February) we work on major projects and improvements. Seasonal employees help us maintain our floats, help with demolition and construction, repair cabins and grounds, trim trees, load and unload barges, and much more.

PERKS

Our seasonal employees enjoy working and playing on the island beyond our summer program camps. Beyond the potential opportunity to chase pods of dolphins or swim with a sea turtle, It is a once-in-a-lifetime ministry experience that many former staff have found life-changing.
